Sober Living Inc.

Sober Living, Inc. is a non-profit organization designed to restore individuals who are battling addiction to drugs and alcohol.  Sober Living clients are primarily men and women who are released from prisons, jails, and treatment centers and who need assistance staying sober and finding shelter and employment.  Sober Living, Inc. provides homes in the Wichita Falls area that serve as safe and supported structured living arrangements for people transitioning back into mainstream society.

Once in the program, Sober Living, Inc. helps clients obtain proper documentation for employment and job placement.  Once a job has been secured, Sober Living arranges transportation to and from jobs, recovery meetings, medical and legal appointments.  Once established in the program and in a residence, clients pay their own rent and expenses.  We also seek to enroll our clients in detox or treatment programs where they will be successful.

Sober Living, Inc. is seeking funding to supplement and strengthen our current outreach program.  Monetary assistance would provide Sober Living, Inc. the means to grow the current population served and provide integral services to those who need it the most.

Our home for women at 4416 Sisk Road houses 14 women of all ages and socio-economic levels.  In particular, hygiene products would be extremely welcome year-round, as would cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, and grooming products.  We are raising money to put in a second shower room; currently we have one shower to accommodate the needs of the entire house.  Once our new bathroom is complete, we will need to purchase rugs, curtains, and assorted fixtures to make the room functional and efficient.

We are also in need of rugs, plants, decorations, and window treatments for the interior of the house.  Towels and extra bedding are always appreciated, whether new or used.  (You can check our Amazon wish list on Facebook.)  Anything we collect that we cannot use will be passed along to the men’s house, which at this time is a rented property in Sunnyside.  We hope to purchase a house for the men before the end of the year.

In addition, we are having fundraisers at Cotton Patch and Texas Roadhouse this summer, as well as a car wash and garage sale.  Our Facebook page gives more details.
