Support dance education by donating to Sole City Dance's scholarship program through NH Gives 2025!

Our scholarship program offers tuition assistance - amounts are awarded based on need, but any student who applies will receive assistance. Currently, scholarship funds only cover monthly tuition fees in an effort to aid more students. We are working on expanding our scholarship program and creating an endowment to assist students with costume fees and dancewear for those in the program. Help us build up our scholarship fund for the 2025-2026 dance season! Last dance season, we awarded over $10,000, which allowed us to give students the opportunity to attend classes they otherwise would not have been able to afford. On average, we awarded over $800 each month to our scholarship families. A $75 donation would cover the scholarship award for one family for one month. 

Sole City Dance is the region's premier nonprofit non-competition dance studio based in Somersworth, New Hampshire. Our mission is to provide a strong technical foundation in dance in a non-competitive, nonjudgmental environment, for the encouragement of artistic expression. With a robust roster of 17 faculty – some professionally trained at Portland Ballet and Boston Ballet with more than half the faculty holding college degrees in dance – SCD offers distinguished training in tap, classical ballet, jazz, modern, hip hop, acrobatics, aerial, and ballroom dance. 

SCD also provides cultural enrichment and enhances the social capital of Strafford County through its dynamic full-length Nutcracker production, innovative Dance Northeast weekend event at the Rochester Opera House, and a rotating Spring ballet production. (Previous Spring productions have included a restaging of Cinderella choreographed by University of New Hampshire assistant professor Assaf Benchetrit, a Sole City Dance production of Treasure Island, and a brand-new Sole City Dance production of The Moon-Spinners Mystery).

Embedded in SCD's mission is its commitment to, and regional leadership in, making high-quality arts accessible to youth living in the economically disadvantaged Strafford County region (Rochester, Somersworth, Dover, and Barrington). Through SCD's scholarship program and their After School Arts programs for Somersworth students, SCD makes classical and contemporary dance and its benefits affordable and accessible to over 200 youth each year.

Sole City Dance is a distinguished, non-competitive dance school based in Somersworth, NH. The mission of SCD is to provide a strong technical foundation in dance in a non-competitive, nonjudgmental environment for the encouragement of artistic expression. SCD offers a high level of training in tap, jazz, modern, classical ballet, hip hop, musical theatre, acrobatics, and aerial dance with jazz, tap and ballet classes offered specifically for boys. SCD provides cultural enrichment and enhances the social capital of the region through its dynamic full-length Nutcracker production at the Rochester Opera House and its weekend Dance Northeast festival.
