Southdown Plantation & Museum

A nonprofit organization

The Terrebonne Historical & Cultural Society (THACS) is committed to preserving the history and culture of Terrebonne Parish and Southdown Plantation by providing a setting that serves the tourism industry as an educational resource through tours and activities, as well as a venue site for charitable and community events that attract visitors to the area. We're excited about growing our Southdown community!

We have big plans and exciting things on the radar to enhance our community partnerships and landscape starting with enhancements to our facilities and property features. These are projects that will bring additional avenues to Southdown showcasing our arts, cultural, and historical rooms through digital media as well as enhancing our grounds with new features for the community!
