Together We Grow: A Story of Belonging at SNSC

At the Special Needs Support Center (SNSC), we believe that everyone deserves to feel like they belong—at school, at work, in the community, and in everyday life. We have been doing this work in our community in the Upper Valley since 1979. We are founded by adults with children living with disabilities and continue this legacy through our services each day for members of our community.

Mia’s story shows how belonging can change a life.

A creative young adult on the autism spectrum, Mia often felt overwhelmed and left out. Her family struggled to find programs that truly welcomed and supported her—until they found SNSC. Here, Mia flourished in our inclusive art labs, danced her heart out at our social events, and found a support system through one-on-one advocacy. Her mom joined our caregiver group and said, “For the first time, I don’t feel alone.”

Stories like Mia’s happen every day at SNSC, but our work goes beyond individual lives. We're changing the culture of the Upper Valley with our Disability-Friendly Business Certification, helping local businesses, nonprofits, and town governments become more inclusive and accessible. From training first responders to consulting with employers, we’re building a stronger, more welcoming region where people with disabilities can thrive.

This NH Gives Day, your gift helps us make belonging for all abilities a reality—not just an idea.

Your support fuels:

  • Advocacy and support for people of all ages with disabilities

  • Inclusive social, creative, and educational programming

  • Caregiver wellness and family guidance

  • First responder and business training

  • Our growing Disability-Friendly Certification program—helping the Upper Valley lead by example

Together, we make belonging possible. Together, we grow.
