Who We Are

For over 135 years, our parish families at St. Mary (Norway) & St. Barbara (Vulcan) have brought the presence of Jesus Christ to the communities of Norway & Vulcan and the surrounding areas. We come from a rich history, encompassing the efforts of our brothers and sisters who have joined our parish families from St. Mary (Quinnesec), St. Stephen (Loretto) and St. Mary (Faithorn).

St. Mary & St. Barbara have been partnered since 2007, which has led to greater outreach. Our two parishes provide a spiritual home for approximately 530 families. We gather for liturgies and the sacraments which enliven and deepen our faith. We serve every generation from the unborn to the elderly, passing on the Catholic faith entrusted to us by offering a wide range of ministries.
