St. Patrick Catholic School (Jacksonville)

Our History

St. Patrick’s Catholic School has been an integral part of the North Jacksonville community since 1964. The school’s origins date back to July 1960, when Fr. John Lenihan initiated a building fund shortly after the first Mass in the new church. The school officially welcomed its first students on September 1, 1964, under the leadership of four Sisters of Mercy from New Inn, Ireland. Sr. Carmel O’Callaghan, who was the final Sister of Mercy to serve as principal, retired and returned to Ireland in 2011.

Our Location and Leadership

In 2012, the school relocated to its current campus on Airport Center Dr. Since 2021, Mr. Christopher Meyer has served as principal, continuing the school’s legacy of strong leadership and commitment to Catholic education.

At St. Patrick, we believe that each student’s needs are best met through the collaborative efforts of home, school, church, and community. Guided by the philosophy of the American Bishops, we embrace the belief that community forms the core of Christian education—not just as a lesson, but as a lived experience. Our school is dedicated to providing a nurturing and loving environment for all students.

Contributions also allow us to offer additional funds for tuition assistance. With increased support, we are able to welcome and serve more students in the Jacksonville area, making a quality education accessible to families who need it most.
