Standing Proud Pit Bull Rescue

Standing Proud Pit Bull Rescue Center is a 501(c)(3) charitable Non-Profit Organization located in Mesa, Arizona. We focus on the rescuing, rehabilitation, & adoption of pit bulls within our community. Additionally we strive to be a resource and to educate our community about these wonderful dogs, in order to combat the negative misinformation that is distributed by the news media.

Standing Proud is a small foster based organization. We specialize in rescuing dogs (and the occasional cat) with medical or behavioral issues. We work one on one with a canine behaviorist that helps us rehabilitate our dogs. We are different from other organizations because of our adoption process. We strongly believe that our dogs should go to their forever home the first time, therefore, our adoption process takes anywhere from 2 months - 6 months. Our behaviorist works with our potential adopters to make sure that a specific dog is the right one for them. She then takes the dog back and forth between its foster home and adopters home multiple times to help the dogs acclimate to a new environment. We then have a 2 week official foster to adopt period. We may be a small organization but we try to have a big impact in our community by bringing people together to celebrate our love for pit bull type dogs.
