StayWell Health Center

StayWell Health Center provides comprehensive health care and social services for 26,000 individuals living in over 30 Greater Waterbury towns. We care for the whole person by providing and coordinating medical, dental, and mental health care regardless of insurance status. StayWell offers specialty care also such as nutrition, acupuncture, allergy testing/treatment, nephrology, and podiatry.  As the only CT community health center nationally recognized for the past 5 years as a gold standard (top 10%) Quality Leader, your donation supports positively impacting the health of the community. 

Why your donations matter:

Healthcare coverage and employment has changed significantly.  It is not uncommon for full-time employees not to be offered health insurance or for it to be unaffordable.  The gig-economy has increased lack of insurance coverage and hospitals have eliminated their community-based health clinics.  Other factors are causing a critical need for fundraising: 

• $2.5M Gap in Medicaid Rates:  Low reimbursement rates to Medicaid do not cover the costs associated with caring for patients.


• Rising uninsured rate from 12% in 2021, rising to 17% in 2024.


• Negative fiscal impact at Naugatuck site where construction is happening on Church Street


• Changes and threats to funding that will jeopardize 340B Drug Pricing Program which allows lower pricing to purchase drugs.

StayWell Health Center is committed to providing high quality health care and social services for individuals and families throughout their lives. We care for the whole person by providing and coordinating medical, dental, and mental health with the focus on prevention. We accept most commercial insurances, as well as Medicaid and Medicare. We also accept self-pay patients who can apply for a sliding fee discount to make care affordable for everyone.

StayWell serves the Greater Waterbury area with 9 locations in Waterbury and 1 location in Naugatuck. All donations received during the sponsorship period will go to support StayWell Health Center’s services for over 24,000 patients in the region, including over 3,000 annually who are uninsured.
