St. Charles County Arts Council

The Council has been supporting, nurturing and creating opportunities for the art in St. Charles County since its formation in 1979. We believe the the arts are an investment in the quality of life and an integral part of community life, that the arts build community through bridging diverse cultural expressions and geography, that the arts contribute to a strong and viable region through cooperation and collaboration of the arts organizations and artists, that the arts should be accessible to all citizens, and that the arts are an integral part of education, life-long learning, and the development of the full potential of human beings.
Through its mission, guiding principles and basic approach, the Arts Council plays a sustained and vital leadership role in the county and region.
The Arts Council has played a significant role in supporting the arts in the region, through art exhibits (all school levels and groups and individuals) sponsoring meetings and lectures, partnering with St.Charles Community College for classes, promoting and sponsoring activities and programs with other arts organizations, providing limited college scholarships for art students, sponsoring skateboard art with the St Charles County Parks.
