St. James Day School

The mission of St. James Day School is to educate students in a safe and nurturing environment that instills high intellect, character, and compassion-challenging them academically, physically, and spiritually to achieve their highest potential as confident individuals and future leaders.

St. James Day School is a private Christian school currently serving Pre-K through eighth grade, located on 25 acres of natural woodland in Texarkana, Texas. St. James has been an East Texas icon of educational excellence since 1948. We are committed to providing an education that includes core academic content areas and developmentally appropriate generalized knowledge and skills that allow students to maximize their learning potential in an unbroken logical continuum.

The environment at St. James is child-centered and is designed to provide deep multi-disciplinary connections through comprehensive enrichment classes, including Latin, Spanish, art, music, and physical education. Technology, computer sciences, and informational literacy are leveraged to advance innovation in teaching and learning from preschool on.

Students are given endless opportunities to learn about the world through hands-on experiences, project-based learning, field trips, community service, performances, living histories, competitions, and interwoven technology.

For 75 years, St. James has been the school of academic excellence in Texarkana. It is fully accredited by the Southwest Association of Episcopal Schools, and is recognized by the National Association of Episcopal Schools, TANS (Texas Association of Non-public Schools) and the state of Texas.
