Strand Theater Initiative

The Strand Theater Initiative is a non-profit corporation, dedicated to operation and ongoing revival of Zelienople's historic theater as a cultural, education and community outreach center, serving North Pittsburgh and SW Pennsylvania.

The Strand presents a diverse mix of live programs and classic cinema, and has showcased such household names as Debbie Reynolds, John Oates (Hall & Oates), The Celtic Tenors and B.E. Taylor, as well as a host of Broadway and National Tour talent in conjunction with it proprietary Broadway On Main series. Broadway On Main is The Strand's signature series features full-cast productions, concerts or plays, featuring performers with bona fide Broadway and/or national touring credentials. Original, themed productions such as "It's a USO Christmas", "Rudolph, Frosty, The Grinch & Friends" and "Chiller Theatre: The Musical" also feature professional stage talent. The Strand's mix of film programs ranges from "Casablanca" and "The Wizard of Oz" to "Elvis Meets Nixon" and "Guardians of the Galaxy".
