Society of St. Vincent de Paul Council of Pittsburgh: Transforming Lives Through Compassion and Service

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Council of Pittsburgh changes lives every day by offering hope and help to neighbors facing crisis. When families are on the brink of eviction, when the lights are about to be shut off, when children need food, clothing, or a safe place to sleep-SVdP is there. Powered by over 850 compassionate volunteers, we meet people where they are, delivering urgent, personalized assistance with dignity and love. In 2024, we helped thousands of struggling individuals, most from low-income households, many with children, and many with nowhere else to turn. Our programs keep families housed, safe, and together. Your support, along with proceeds from our local thrift stores, support both program funding and affordable shopping. Your support doesn't just pay a bill. It restores hope. It prevents homelessness. It feeds children. Please join us in this mission of compassion. Every gift makes a difference. Every dollar is a lifeline.

Testimonials

"The food pantry has been extremely helpful to my family and I am the only working individual in my home, and two other mouths to feed (along with additional bills). Each month, I am able to only afford $100-$200 for groceries. The assistance provided by the great men and women of the SVDP have brought me groceries monthly, with some additional supplemental food when some months get especially rough. I am always very thankful for their deliveries." - St. Philip Food Pantry Client
