Creating transformational opportunities for marginalized and underserved youth through boat building and positive mentorship.

Description

The purpose of the programs within the Tacoma Boat Builders is to help youth strengthen their natural talents in a challenging learning environment, while at the same time, emphasizing both their skill and social emotional development, thereby increasing the overall resiliency they need to be successful in their lives. By pairing youth with adult mentors, youth learn about healthy relationships and working together to achieve a common purpose; they learn an important life lesson about cooperation as well as trust.
