Tyler Area Senior Citizens Association (TASCA)

Mission Statement: To connect people, promote and maintain physical and mental health, provide entertainment and activities, and provide socialization in a safe and pleasant environment Special note: due to changing work patterns since TASCA originated three decades ago, we no longer have any age restrictions to belong to our organization. Many people have flexible schedules these days and are welcome to come enjoy all the games; speakers; exercise classes; dances and more!

TASCA is a 501c3 that has been around for more than thirty years. We have two buildings located off Highway 110 between Tyler and Whitehouse that we utilize for programs and activities; but we rely on renting the buildings for income. Rental monies fund our programs and pay expenses. We want to emphasize that our organization has no underlying continuous source of income.

Our current needs include replacing some of our heating and air conditioning units that are 15 years old and not functioning efficiently. Temperatures in our front building rose to 83 degrees last
summer despite the air conditioner running -- so obviously the units are failing as confirmed by a heating and air conditioning audit performed by a local firm. Unit replacement cost is about $15000 each. Also we are in need of replacing older, heavier 5 foot round Formica covered tables that are starting to fall apart; these tables are used in the majority of our rentals. The tables we seek to purchase are plastic, much lighter and studier with a two-inch edge -- much better for our operations and the old tables won't last much longer. These tables cost about $300 each
