The Arc of the Hill Country

Our chapter of The Arc was created by family members, caregivers, and volunteers looking to improve the quality of their loved ones' lives while gaining a support system. We provide fun, education, socialization, and sports activities in a safe, loving environment at our monthly Saturday night socials.  We have hosted  Fashion shows, Talent shows,  Theater shows, Sports days, days at Landa Park and days on the Guadalupe River, and more.  While the DJ plays the hippest music, and the oldies, we will be dancing, playing games, crafting, pulling raffle tickets, and fellowshipping with all.  There is always plenty of good food too!    The fun is contagious, and the whole family is welcome.  We are beginning our 16th year of social fun and we want you there with us!   Come and meet others going through similar experiences and know you are not alone.  Our total volunteer chapter is always ready to welcome new folks to have fun and or to serve.
We serve Comal, Hays and Guadalupe counties.   We are a rapidly growing community!

Who We Are

The Arc of the Hill Country was formed in 2010 by a group of family members and caregivers wanting to enhance the lives of their loved ones. We strive to advocate and assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their efforts to achieve education, recreation, transportation, employment and residential living goals. We are committed to supporting these individuals in an effort to provide them the ability to live a rewarding life while attaining their full potential within our local community.

We hold a monthly social Saturday in which we have had Fashion shows, Talent shows, Theater shows and sports days. We have had board game days, days at Landa Park, days on the Guadalupe River, water game days and movie nights! We have a DJ who always plays the hippest music, and dancing is a top priority! We play games, make crafts, have raffles, fellowship and of course there is always food!

We support a new community based program, the PEACE Program as well. The clients learn to make crafts to market, volunteer at various community centers and have fun while exercising.
