The Community Kitchen of Torrington

Since 1983, The Community Kitchen of Torrington has been battling food insecurity, by serving hot, nutritious, often from-scratch meals, to the entire Litchfield County - at no cost. 

Additionally, at The Community Kitchen of Torrington, our guests' experiences are more transformative than eating and leaving.

Because of your financial support, you are responsible for: 

• Our guests' transition from unhoused to housed.


• Our guests' sobriety milestones.


• Our guests' educational accomplishments. 


• Our guests' transition from unemployed to employed. 


• Our guests' transition from loneliness to companionship.  


• Last, but not least, you are responsible for family reunification. 

We accomplish these measurable outcomes with the support from the number of professional providers, support groups, that extend their services complimentary to the community. Coupled with our belief and practice in a trauma-informed, person-centered approach when working with the community, our environment is conducive to healing and growth.
