The Family of the Good Shepherd

The Family of the Good Shepherd is a small Catholic home for children in need in Central Nebraska. We serve foster children both long term and short term, provide respite for foster and adoptive families in need of respite. (Especially if they have a special needs child) Currently, I have guardianship of 3 in the home due to their not being available for adoption. I also have adult guardianship of 1 who is high functioning special needs and has lived in the home since she was 10 years old.

We strive to heal the whole child, mentally, physically and spiritually. Faith and an encounter with Jesus helps the child understand their worth. Education is important as this is key to the child having a better life and positive self image. Extra curricular activities are encouraged as this is also healing and helps the child learn good skills. 

The youngest child in the home, who is 4 years old is shaken baby. We are needing to build a home that is handicap accessible as he begins to try to learn to mobile. The home we are renting is not handicap accessible.

At this time The Family of the Good Shepherd is looking to grow it's base of donners and raise money to help with building the much needed home. Know that if 150 donners give $1000.00 it becomes $150,000. Of course any amount of donation is welcome either for the home or as regular or one time donners!
