The Father's House

RFK is a Christian led organization that exists to transform communities by interrupting the cycles of neglect, abuse, and abandonment of children in the foster care system. We fulfill our mission by providing an array of programs, all directed toward changing the trajectory of young lives which, too often, include a combination of academic failure, drug abuse, teen pregnancy, sex trafficking, homelessness, and incarceration.

Camping is an adventure! You play in nature, eat s'mores around the campfire and gaze at the stars. Not everyone is afforded an opportunity to share in this experience. Since 2018, The Father's House, a 501(c) (3) Christian organization has made it their mission, in serving local foster children from western Connecticut, to partake in this adventure. Royal Family Kids Chapter 364 is a program that gives foster children, ages 6 - 12, hope with a future in letting them know that they matter; that they are a part of God's family and help them realize their potential and value in this world. When a child goes to Royal Family Kids, God's love is modeled consistently. Children receive the attention and encouragement of adult camp counselors while exposed to a variety of safe and fun activities such as swimming, hiking, fishing, fun games, sports, tea parties, songs and skits, and Bible stories, allowing campers to experience success. Our Camp Director, staff, and counselors go through intensive training, including a study of dynamics of child abuse and neglect, using recognized professionals in the field as faculty. There is also an intensive screening process for all staff, including volunteers. Two children are assigned to a camp counselor; in addition to the camp counselors, there is back-up staff for each counselor. There are strict policies and important measures to ensure everyone's safety while attending our camp. Our campsite has been specially selected to provide a safe, fun place for camp experience and our food is simply scrumptious! We work tirelessly throughout the year to raise funds through various activities and events.

Our fundraising goal for 2020 is $50,000.00; providing 50 foster children an amazing, life-changing week at camp. We would love for you to come alongside us in serving these children if you feel lead to make a donation. Royal Family Kids, Inc., is a 501(c) (3) tax-exempt public charity. Donations and gifts are tax-deductible, as allowed by law. Pastor Carol Rubelmann serves as RFK#364 Camp Director.
