We are a small, independent, nonpartisan organization that was founded to increase working-age people's civic participation in New Hampshire by expanding their knowledge, and supporting their leadership growth. We've also been incredibly busy developing public policy initiatives that focus on addressing the housing crisis, protecting voter rights, and securing a more prosperous future for generations to come.

Today, the conditions for young people to secure housing, find childcare, juggle educational needs for their kids, or gain access to affordable healthcare are entirely different than the generations before us.  When the average age of elected officials in New Hampshire is over 65, the most pressing issues facing adults in their 20s, 30s, and 40s, are not fully represented. Our unique mission to serve working-age people, allows us to create meaningful events, and cultivate grassroots strategies that can overcome the barriers this underrepresented demographic is currently facing. The Forward Foundation not only helps foster community engagement at the local level, but also educates the public on issues that effect working-age people around the state.

We follow a theory of change that prioritizes engagement, education, and activism so communities can forge their own path in these unprecedented times. The Forward Foundation has been able to help hundreds of working-age people begin their journey towards local and state office, but civic engagement is still out of reach for so many young Granite Staters. With your support we can continue to build up our capacity around the state, and create a thriving New Hampshire that works for all its citizens, not just the rich and powerful.
