The Maverick Boys & Girls Club of Amarillo

A nonprofit organization

For 90 years, the Maverick Boys & Girls Club of Amarillo has been providing a safe space for opportunities and growth for the youth in our community. Our afterschool and summer programs cater to 5 to 18-year-olds across six locations, including Bivins, Glenwood, Hamlet, San Jacinto, Rolling Hills Elementary Schools, and our Dykeman site on Lincoln Street.

Every day, we transport members from 24 schools to our club, impacting up to 650 kids across all locations, with nearly 90% facing the challenges of poverty. In our after-school program, each member receives a hot meal, homework help, tutoring, and high-quality programming. We charge families $30 per month for each member, recognizing the importance of accessible and valued care in Amarillo.

In 2021, we established a partnership with Tyson Foods, extending care for the children of B Shift workers until 1:00 AM, Monday through Friday. Tyson Foods covers 100% of the costs, ensuring these families have access to safe and nurturing childcare.

It is through your support that we can provide a safe place, essential resources, and opportunities for the youth to become the future leaders of Amarillo. Your contribution will directly impact lives, creating a lasting legacy of empowerment.

Never underestimate the power of your generosity in a young person's life.
