The Mission of the Sight Center of
Northwest Pennsylvania

To
prevent blindness and promote independence for those with vision loss or
blindness.

Welcome to The Sight Center of Northwest Pennsylvania. Our nonprofit is dedicated
to the prevention of blindness and empowering individuals who are blind or
visually impaired to live full, independent lives. Serving seven counties
across the region, we provide a wide range of specialized programs and services
that meet people where they are—offering both practical support and
life-enhancing connections.

Our Core Programs

problems to ensure children start school ready to learn.

  • National Diabetes Prevention
    Program

managing bills, and handling daily tasks

    Wednesday Club

Eyeglass Assistance
Program

With support from the Erie Lions and Save an Eye Fund, we helps individuals in
financial need access necessary examinations and corrective eyewear.

Why Our
Mission Matters

Conditions like glaucoma, macular
degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy are increasingly common—yet manageable
with the right support. By helping someone learn to use a magnifier or access
technology, we’re not just improving vision—we’re preserving dignity,
independence, and the ability to stay active and connected.

We’re grateful for
your interest and partnership. A gift to the Sight Center brings hope and practical help to
people living with vision loss or blindness in Erie and across Northwest Pennsylvania.
