The Family Center of Hope, Inc.

A nonprofit organization

The Family Center of Hope operates as an institution of education and social services from a faith-based perspective. Our progressive reform models are designed to affect change in the lives of BIPOC who have experienced traumatic and other disruptive transgressions in their lives. Inherent in the center's social justice philosophy is a belief that those we serve want to change in order to fulfill their societal roles. Our thrust is to support families by offering best practices.

Our overall purpose is "Rebuilding Lives" one ANCHOR at a time.
ANCHOR1: Challenging Mindsets
ANCHOR 2: Offering Hope
ANCHOR 3: Teaching Responsibility
ANCHOR4: Encouraging Restraint
Our programs offer best-practice interventions to children, youths, and their families including:
Passages, a model Rite of Passage intervention for school-age children
Parenting Matters, teaching and offering skills rooted in childhood development
Helping Mothers Heal, a weekly support group for mothers who's children have been violently murdered
Evening Reporting Center, ERC, a 45-90 day program providing interventions to system involved youths to reduce repeated offenses of carjackings, arm robberies, theft, and possession and use of illegal firearms.
NOYAC, New Orleans Youth Assessment Center. To deter and divert youth from the Juvenile Justice system.

Testimonials

"My son has been getting in trouble for years, it took his getting involved with the ERC to help him to understand he has a future that can be separate from crime and violence. He has a job now, he feels good about himself and he constantly tells us about the 4 Anchors for Change that he learned in the ERC".

"Without the Helping Mothers Heal Group my life would still be on hold". Thanks staff for listening, being patient and offering me a safe space to be in with mothers who are walking in
