The Ladies of Hope Ministries, INC.

Each year, thousands of women return to our communities from jails and prisons. Since 2017, The Ladies of Hope Ministries (The LOHM) has provided solutions to the many challenges that uniquely face women who are previously incarcerated and the families and communities to which they return. We drive change in the social justice movement by providing solutions that address America’s legacy of structural racism and the many inequities that are birthed from it, by providing safe, healing-centered housing, reentry support, and advocacy programs that are grounded in the commitment, insights, and ideas of women with lived experience. 

We know that women returning to the community have extremely high levels of need. Although these needs decline over time, levels of unmet need remain high even at 15 months. Receiving support to address short‐term needs- such as housing, healthcare, employment, and food- reduces the odds of recidivism by 83%. The LOHM serves women and girls directly impacted by the criminal justice system and the families and communities to which they return by providing support services and connections to much needed resources.
