In addition to awarding college scholarships to students from underserved communities, The Pearl Foundation offers coaching and mentoring to the scolarship recipients. Members of the organization share their professional expertise and skills with students in groups and on individual basis. The Youth Leadership Institute, a youth-led and highly interactive leadership development program , is designed to empower and engage youth ages 11-13. This program ia supported by The Pearl Foundation in collaboration with Theta Alpha Omega Chapter, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. CHIPP, Childhood HungerInitiative Power Pack program is also supported in collaboration with the Sorority.
Through increased collaborations with other organizations and increased donor support, The Pearl Foundation continues to expand its commmunity outreach. The Foundation collaborates with Leadership Long Beach, NAACP, Long Beach Health and Human Services Center for Families and the Long Beach Family Preservation Program to provide programs that promote health, economic security and education in multigenerational and multicultural communities in the Long Beach area.
