The Restoration Initiative for Culture and Community

A nonprofit organization

The Restoration Initiative for Culture and Community creates environments and solutions that expand possibilities, cultivate character, and restore relationships of individuals, groups, and families.

The Restoration Initiative for Culture and Community (The RICC) was founded in 2012 as an outgrowth of Canal Street Church, built on the belief that restoration of communities depends on reconciliation of relationships.

There are four missional priorities of programming within The RICC, addressing specific needs in our community. These categories include Marketplace Reconciliation, Community Solutions, Holistic and Trauma-Informed Care, and Missional Leadership.

Our Marketplace Reconciliation category houses Fleurish Industries, which develops and operates businesses to provide marketplace reconciliation through employment, job training, and life transformation mentoring. Within this category, we serve teens and young adults from hard places, adults coming out of incarceration, and those who have been recently housed after experiencing homelessness.

Through Community Solutions, The RICC addresses issues of health and wellness in the community, such as food insecurity, and our educational programming, like homework help and school partnerships.

Our Holistic and Trauma-Informed Care category is home to Restoration Counseling, a counseling center that offers services in a variety of formats to nurture total well-being for their clients.

Missional Leadership encompasses Restoration Institute, a think-tank for Christ-centered engagement in the critical issues of urban and city life, promoting solutions for development and reconciliation through our volunteer programming, conferences, a thought-provoking blog, and a journal.
