Celebrating 53 Years of Community, Culture, and Care

This year, The Silo proudly celebrates 53 years of unwavering support and love for our community, with a mission that continues to uplift, inspire, and connect. Since its founding, The Silo has been a beacon of hope, fostering creativity through arts, music, and culture while standing firm in its commitment to preservation and conservation.

The impact of The Silo over the last two years alone has been extraordinary. Between 2023 and 2024, we partnered with 67 nonprofits, offering them access to our spaces and facilities entirely free of charge. The only request? Nonperishable food donations, which we then distributed to social services. Thanks to this collaborative effort, we collectively donated an astounding 700,000 pounds of food to help families in need.

Your support fuels this vital work. At The Silo, every dollar donated multiplies into $7 that directly benefits our community. Whether it's enriching young lives through the arts or providing essential resources for those in need, your generosity makes a real difference.

At the heart of The Silo’s mission is a profound dedication to youth. Through the Kids in the Balcony program, we’ve brought thousands of children to Carnegie Hall to witness the magic of the New York Pops Orchestra, absolutely free of charge. This program, founded in 1991 by Ruth Henderson, continues to inspire and open doors for future generations, and in 2025, our work in this area is stronger than ever.

Everything we’ve achieved – and hope to achieve – is made possible by the incredible generosity of donors and the tireless dedication of volunteers. Without any local, state, or federal funding, 100% of your support goes directly to maintaining The Silo as a vibrant community resource that improves lives and strengthens connections.

Join us in celebrating 53 years of making a difference. Together, we can continue to preserve this cherished space and its mission for generations to come. Every contribution is a step towards an even brighter future for our community.
