The Times Picayune Doll and Toy Fund

From the 19th century into the 21st century, the Times-Picayune Doll and Toy Fund has helped make the holiday season merry for children from struggling families throughout the New Orleans area. The Times-Picayune Doll and Toy Fund is supported solely by public contributions and operated by unpaid volunteers. One hundred percent of the contributions directly benefit the toy distribution. Help make a difference in the lives of young children in our Greater New Orleans area.

Bringing Joy Since 1896

The Times-Picayune Doll and Toy Fund has been brightening holidays for New Orleans children since 1896. What started as a small effort by The Times-Picayune newspaper to ensure kids in need received toys on Christmas morning has turned into an iconic local tradition spanning over 131 years.

Today, thanks to the generosity of donors and sponsors, we provide over 12,000 toys, educational gifts and snacks from Santa to nearly 10,000 children across the Greater New Orleans area annually. Seeing the smiles when a child opens their gift makes all the hard work worth it!

Our volunteer elves work year-round securing donations and purchasing toys for local distributions. It's a labor of love we undertake because we believe every child deserves a little magic during the holidays.
