Transformations by Amarillo Angels

Last year, 2000+ children and youth from our area experienced foster care by no fault of their own. We believe every single one are precious creations and deserve to have an army of people who surround them, cheer them on, and tell them how special and loved they are.

Sadly, the statistics and outcomes for these precious ones are heartbreaking:

• 50% of foster homes close in the first year


• Children in foster care move an average of seven times in two year 


• Just over 50% of youth in foster care graduate from high school 


• 3% take advantage of the state tuition waiver that provides for additional education and training 


• The year after aging out the system, 2/3 will be homeless, incarcerated, trafficked or dead

Our purpose at Amarillo Angels is to empower our community to pull together and positively change these outcomes and the lives of these children and youth.

Our goal is to take a challenging system and build a beautiful, strong community around it that loves, supports, encourages, transforms lives, and invests in a better future.  We won't stop until every child, youth and family in our area have the support they need,

A gift to our programs means children, youth, and families experiencing foster care are supported through intentional giving, relationships, and mentorship. Parents are given the support they need to keep their doors open. Children and youth are given the confidence and tools needed to live up to their fullest potential - wrapped in community and empowered. Your investment will provide opportunities for our children and youth to develop meaningful relationships, have access to normal childhood experiences, and succeed in school. 

Our fundraising goal this year is $122,760.  Raising this amount will provide one year of services in our program for 310 children who are experiencing foster care in our area. As a part of our Love Box program and Dare to Dream mentoring program, they will receive empowerment, community support, encouragement, essential items, mentoring, and much, much more.
