Two Rivers Heritage Foundation

A nonprofit organization

Two Rivers Heritage Foundation endeavors to learn, teach, conserve, and celebrate the natural and cultural heritage of Texas, particularly that area located between the Brazos River and the Navasota River in Grimes County, and to ultimately establish a repository for preservation of historical documents and artifacts which created and influenced Navasota and its surrounding region to be made available for research , study, education, and the enlightenment and gratification of all people.

TRHF has in its short existence provided programs of historical and cultural interest to members and guests at bi-monthly meetings. These programs have served to unify local citizens around common interests in the past and a common desire to preserve the artifacts and stories be it fact or myth.
Participants have learned to research and compile family histories from genealogical databases; learned how to maintain and repair monuments and gravestones in cemeteries. We have learned of the contributions of the Texas Buffalo Soldiers and the impact on professional baseball by African-Americans from Texas.
We have featured videos and live programs from the Austin's Bullock Museum such as: "The Ship that Changed History" detailing French Explorer LaSalle's expedition on his ship LaBelle which led to the largest acquisition of land by America, the Louisiana Purchase ; "Myths and Unsolved Mysteries of the Texas Revolution" identifying the causes of the Texas Revolution, and key players and events which helped a small group of revolutionaries achieve independence from Mexico; and Spanish Missions of Texas gave little known truths.
Historians, professors and passionate Texans have.

We wish to see our architecture, our stories, our heroes, our many varied people from the past remain alive today in the hearts and minds of those that come here.
