Texas Czech Genealogical Society

A nonprofit organization

To preserve items of genealogical interest to the Texas Czech Genealogical Community and make them available to the public. To publish materials of interest to the Texas Czech Genealogical Community. To provide and promote educational activities directed at aiding individuals in furthering their personal genealogical research activities. To set up a Texas/Czech Veterans Wall of Honor for veterans who fought for our freedom and served in the military.

TCGS has speaker events 3 to 4 times each year in Caldwell, Burleson, TX to help educate those interested in researching their Czech family history. The events often have singers (choirs or individuals), dancers, and musicians who share Czech music.

TCGS publishes the "Ceske Stopy" magazine quarterly. The Ceske Stopy provides family history details, Czech recipes, history of the Czech Republic, obituaries, etc.

TCGS started publishing books in 2004. The twenty-six books published over the last twenty years include family history, immigration, weddings, military service, history of churches, history of schools, etc.

TCGS has a public library that is currently closed due to moving from Temple, Texas to Caldwell. Once the library is open again, all are welcome to come to review the books that we have in the library.

Our Wall of Honor for those of Texas Czech descent has various items from the veterans who fought in wars over the decades. The Wall of Honor also has a small section dedicated to the Czech Republic war veterans.

Testimonials

TCGS has been extremely supportive of many people who are learning about their Czech heritage.

Trips to the Czech Republic with members from TCGS has been very beneficial. During these trips, we were able to meet family members and learn more about our ancestry.
