United Nations Association of the USA Kentucky Division

A nonprofit organization

$450 raised by 8 donors

United Nations Association of the USA KENTUCKY Division (UNA-USA KY Div.) is a 501 c 3 charitable nonprofit (EIN 23-7181530) so donations are tax deductible; we will gladly furnish a letter for your tax purposes. For years, we have focused on Human Trafficking & Sexual Exploitation. More recently we have focused on Familial Sex Trafficking and also Sextortion/Sexual Extortion. These fall under UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG)#5 for gender equity and empowerment of women.

Human Trafficking/Modern Day Slavery is local to global - happening right here in Louisville and in KY. The body of a human being should never have a price tag attached.  Laws are being made in KY to help keep predators away and to assist victims to become survivors. We have found the book, Good Pictures, Bad Pictures, Jr. for 3-6 year olds to be better able to protect themselves. The books are available in all 17 Jefferson County Public Libraries courtesy of UNA-USA KY Div. And Rotary Club of Louisville Suburban District Grant now has the book in the rest of the counties in KY. Literally, you can check this book out!

We address issues such as: FGM, Child Forced Marriage, Pornography, Sex and Labor Trafficking, Sextortion/Sexual Extortion.

Please put the national human trafficking HOTLINE: 1-888-373-7888, Texting of 233-733 or "BeFree" and CHAT which are 24/7  in your cell phone now.  If Immediate danger, you should not intervene but dial 911.  The public is legally required to report "suspicions".

We appreciate donors and sponsors because together, with your help, we will make a bigger difference fighting Human Trafficking and Sexual Exploitation! Your contribution today will help us do more! We would greatly appreciate your financial support.

We also welcome your membership to UNA-USA Community Chapters in Louisville, Lexington or Frankfort plus 2 UofL Campus Chapters. Join online at www.unausa.org  MEMBERSHIP: Students join FREE up to 26 years of age; Youths $25; Regular $50

Thank you for being part of our movement!

Another focus:
UN SDG #6: Clean WATER & SANITATION with a focus on Forever Chemicals/PFAS Chemicals (per- and polyfluoroalkylsubstances) are linked to serious illnesses and cancers: Kidney & Testicular Cancer, Ulcerative Colitis, Thyroid Disease, Pre-ecclampsia; high Cholesterol and more.

In the 1970's DuPont sold their TEFLON pans (used PFAS) and then PFAS was/is used in so many products; however, DuPont did not disclose the harms found in their research.  Learn a lot about PFAS in the documentary movie, DARK WATERS on NETFLIX where actor Mark Ruffalo portrays attorney Rob Bilott. or his book, EXPOSURE. With the help of several sponsors and co-sponsors, we brought Bilott to Louisville in 2022. In 2023, filmmaker Elijah Yetter-Bowman's BURNED: Protecting the Protectors documentary was shown in Louisville in 2023 pointing out the harms to Firefighters with PFAS chemicals (Teflon in their 'turnout gear' and fire fighting foam) so that "occupational cancer is the #1 killer of firefighters". Fire fighters have increased risk of pancreatic cancer, prostate, testicular and kidney cancers, liver damage, harm to reproductive and imune systems.

Only April 2024 did U.S. EPA set miniscule amounts of 5 PFAS and label some as "hazardous" with enforceable standards.  Now drinking water companies will need to remove these chemicals. Nearly every person in the U.S. has these chemicals in our bodies per CDC. Today, babies are born pre-polluted! Again in 2024, we are working to bring in Elijah to show segments of his newest PFAS documentary movie and for discussion of GENX: The Saga of Forever Chemicals.  Your financial help would be greatly appreciated.

Working in collaboration with WaterStep, there are 4 water stations in operation (first one in 2020) in Goma, DRC.  Now Rotary Club of Louisville Suburban is working to set up 8 more drinking water stations at established Health Clinics in Goma, DRC but we can use your help.

If you will help UNA-USA KY Div. with a donation, we can and will be able to do more to help more people. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for any help with our efforts.

Sincerely,
