Hello Neighbor!

A hundred years ago, a group of visionary leaders in Lancaster County united with a mission to strengthen their community. They recognized a need to “coordinate, maintain, and finance our health and human services agencies,” and what would eventually become United Way of Lancaster County was born.

Throughout our journey, we’ve listened, adapted, and sometimes faced challenges, but our commitment to a legacy of leadership and generosity lives on. Thanks to friends and supporters like you, we are celebrating a century of impactful service. We promise that our mission and intention to advance education, economic mobility, and health in our community through mobilizing resources, people, and organizations is stronger than ever.

Through your partnership, United Way is able to serve effectively. We activate and amplify donor dollars to ensure that organizations on the front lines have the resources they need to create meaningful solutions in their neighborhoods. Over the past year, our Volunteer Center connected 1,707 community members with opportunities to support local nonprofits. Our VITA program provided free tax preparation to 10,306 low to moderate income individuals and families, delivering vital financial resources. Additionally, our dedicated 211 team assisted 55,367 neighbors in crisis, helping them access essential resources and find solutions.
