United for Brownsville: Families Leading Change

United for Brownsville (UB) is a community-driven nonprofit building a neighborhood where every family flourishes.
From early childhood to housing, health, and education, we partner with parents and neighbors to close racial gaps,
improve services, and create opportunities from cradle to career.

Spark Curiosity, Build Futures

UB’s Learning Landscapes campaign turns everyday places and occasions —supermarkets, waiting rooms, sidewalks—into spaces of discovery.
Local parents and caregivers, trained as facilitators, guide children through playful activities that
strengthen literacy, spark a love of math and science, and nurture curiosity about the world.

Our Learning Landscapes projects use high-quality materials developed locally and with technical assistance from professional curriculum designers, educators, graphic designers, and leading organizations like PBS WNET and the Clinton Foundation.

Community-Led Learning

Our facilitators are Brownsville parents and neighbors who know how to connect with families. Together, they design
reading corners, interactive games, and activity cards that bring joy to daily routines—while building skills children
need to thrive in school and beyond.

Giving Tuesday Goal: $10,000

Your gift helps us expand Learning Landscapes facilitations led by local parents, train new facilitators, and
share our activity kits and cards with more families—bringing engaging, culturally rooted learning to places
families already are.
