Who is Village Friends?

Village Friends is a community of neighbors helping neighbors right here in Corry, Pennsylvania.  We serve adults age 55 and older who live within the Corry Area School District, with one simple but powerful mission:  

To help older adult remain safely in their homes while staying active, connected and engaged in the community they love.

Because home isn't just a place -- it's memories, independence, dignity and belonging.

What do we do?

Sometimes, staying independent comes down to the little things.

For many older adults, these everyday tasks can become overwhelming. That's where our caring dependable volunteers step in. But we do more than lend a helping hand -- we build community.  

Our monthly Coffee Club gatherings at local restaurants give members a reason to get out, laugh and connect. Museum tours, plays, factory visit and day trips create opportunities for learning, friendship and fun.  These aren't just outings -- they are lifelines to connection and purpose.

Our volunteers provide light indoor and outdoor handyman services, transportation to appointments, technical assistance with electronics, friendly visits and social activities and cultural and community outings.   

Every ride, every repair, every shared cup of coffee helps someone maintain their independence and their joy.

Why a "Village"?

Village Friends is part of a growing nationwide movement supporting "aging in place" helping older adults remain in their homes and neighborhoods as they grow older. Most seniors want to stay in the homes they love.  Aging in place; preserves independence and dignity, reduces loneliness and isolation, is more affordable than institutional care, strengthens community bonds and eases burden on adult children.  

It truly takes a village to make that possible.

You are helping a neighbor get to a medical appointment, giving someone the confidence to stay in their own home, providing companionship to someone who might otherwise feel alone and strengthening the hear of our Corry community

Your generosity allows us to continue offering essential volunteer services and meaningful social programming to the older adults who built our community. 

We are also always looking for compassionate volunteers.  There is no greater way to give back  than by helping your neighbors remain safe, connected and independent as they age.
