Village Green Foundation

The Village Green Community Center is more than a building; it is a miracle that came to be through the extraordinary commitment of individuals and groups who came together to raise $9.1 million for the building’s construction. It is a place that changes lives.

Thousands pass through the Village Green each month, giving and taking in kind. People come to connect with shelter, sustenance, laughter, art, education, inspiration, child care, dancing, wellness checks, club meetings, fitness activities, competitive games, cooking classes, crafts clubs, technology coaching, tax support, and for friendship and good company. Everyone who enters is served with respect and a smile.

In 2016, the Village Green Foundation accomplished its original mission to build a place that connects and strengthens community. Now, the Foundation's mission is to support the place that connects and strengthens community. When improvement projects are identified that can eliminate barriers to realizing the center’s full potential, the Foundation looks for funds to address them. Your contribution through the 2026 Great Give will help us further connect and strengthen all who pass through the doors.

In the 10 years since we opened our doors to the public, the Village Green Project has delivered more than a community center, it has become the heart of Kingston and a hub for people throughout North Kitsap. The projects at the Village Green Community Center and Park we’ve funded with your support so far:

• Blackout blinds for the Banquet Hall windows
• Improved gymnasium / multipurpose room acoustics
• Portable stage
• Professionally painted pickleball court lines in the gym/MPR
• Shade sail in the park over the playground
• Replaced and expanded the security cameras (inside / outside) with remote viewing capabilities
• Bottle filling station
• Replaced park pavilion posts
• High quality concert piano
• We have approved funding for an irrigation system for the Community Garden

Projects we are actively fundraising for:

• To replace the oldest play structure in the park playground. This play structure was part of the former Navy housing.

• On Saturday May 2nd the Village Green Community Center will be celebrating 10 years open to the community. This event is co-hosted by the Village Green MPD, Village Green Foundation, Friends of the Village Green, Kitsap Regional Library, and Boys & Girls Club of North Kitsap. • On Thursday August 13th (always the 2nd Thursday in August) we will be hosting our annual fundraiser and free community event -- Pie in the Park. This event starts at 4:30PM.
