Volunteer Alexandria connects people to service 

In Alexandria, many families lack basic needs or just need a little help. 

Rising costs mean there is less food, no new shoes, or fewer doctor visits. 

New neighbors need help learning English, finding a job, or preparing taxes. 

Volunteer Alexandria connects organizations that need help with 

volunteers. Through volunteering we give families, businesses, associations, 

and individuals, ages 6+, an opportunity to make a difference. 

Volunteer Alexandria's programs build nonprofit capacity 

through volunteer recruitment, management, and training.

Volunteer Alexandria to continue:

• • • • Mobilizing caring people to help deliver food, mentor students, clean up parks, shovel snow for seniors, teach English to new immigrants, and so much more!
      • Training and recruiting people to be effective nonprofit Board Members.
      • Creating social connections through volunteering. 
      • Training nonprofit staff on best practices for recruiting and managing volunteers.
      • Engaging local businesses in team building activities that make a difference in the community.

Who We Are

Volunteer Alexandria recruits, coordinates, manages, and prepares volunteers 

to give their time and talent to local nonprofit agencies in need of human capital. 

The nonprofits we support can then focus on their missions of conquering Alexandria's 

great community challenges with the assistance of ready, willing, and able volunteers.
