Western Allegheny Community Library

A nonprofit organization

To inspire, engage and educate the community through high quality, fun, creative and informative programming and services.

WACL is a public library serving the municipalities of North Fayette, Findlay Township and Oakdale Borough, as well as the surrounding communities of Allegheny County and beyond. The library opened in November 1990 thanks to a group of dedicated community members who recognized the value of creating a public library for their community. Throughout the last 25 years the library has evolved to keep pace with the ever-changing needs of the community. As the demand for programs and services grew, so did the library. In August 2013 the library moved to its current building, a 14,500 square foot facility which offers a beautiful, vibrant, state-of-the-art atmosphere. With multiple meeting spaces, free wifi, desktop and laptop computers, iPads, and a constantly growing collection of both traditional and non-traditional items, the library has become a destination point for the community.

Funds are needed to maintain the new larger facility and keep up with the growing needs of the community. The library currently serves 75,000 people annually and circulation is a record levels - up 47%! We thank everyone for their generous support on Day of Giving and throughout the year. We truly couldn't be the fantastic community resource that we are without your generosity!
