The goal of the World Affairs Council of New Orleans (WACNO) is to promote the community's awareness of global issues and to further international understanding with particular attention to reflecting our diverse heritage, traditions, and history and to the relevance of the humanities to the current conditions of national life.

WACNO organizes Educational Forums: WACNO hosts regular educational forums that provide a platform for discussing and analyzing global issues and fostering informed perspectives among community members. The Great Decisions monthly program brings local community members together to talk about diverse cultural, social, and economic issues. WACNO organizes social gatherings and events that encourage dialogue and interaction among individuals interested in international affairs, fostering a sense of community and collaboration. The Guest Speaker series provides an opportunity for first-hand exposure to prominent statesmen, diplomats, journalists, educators, scholars, and business and military leaders. Ample time is allowed for questions and interactive discussions with individuals who are making today's headlines and affecting the policies and initiatives of the global village. WACNO is dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion within its programs and initiatives, striving to amplify diverse voices and perspectives worldwide. WACNO educational programs are free and open to the public, and designed for different age groups.
