Washington Friends of Music

Washington Friends of Music (WFM)
For more than fourteen years, WFM has enriched the region’s cultural life through thoughtfully curated, world-class chamber music concerts performed by exceptional artists - many of whom appear as soloists in major concert halls across the United States and abroad. Under the artistic direction of Michael Volpert, programs feature both renowned and lesser-known composers and provide a meaningful platform for emerging artists to share their work with an engaged and appreciative audience.

Each year, WFM presents a joyful New Year’s Day concert as well as a Summer Music Festival in August - four concerts held on Friday evenings in the Historic Meeting House of the First Congregational Church in Washington, CT. Audiences enjoy not only outstanding performances, but also the opportunity to hear musicians share insights about the music and to meet the artists at post-concert receptions. Your support helps keep ticket prices affordable, welcomes students free of charge, and ensures that this vibrant musical experience remains accessible to the wider community.

Please consider making a gift to support WFM - your donation helps sustain this special musical tradition.

Who We Are

Since 2013 music lovers have enthusiastically welcomed concerts with The New Baroque Soloists at Washington’s Historic Meeting House provided by Washington Friends of Music, on New Year's Day and at the Summer Concert Festival. Where else can you experience world-class baroque music as well as listen up-close to musicians sharing insider stories about composers and instruments and rub shoulders with them after the concerts?

Your support for the resumption of the concerts later this year is very much appreciated!
