Wayne County Public Library

A nonprofit organization

$80,145 raised by 288 donors

The Wayne County Public Library, celebrating 85 years of community service, supports diverse community needs for information, education, inspiration, and entertainment through access to electronic and print resources, programs, and expertise. We are here to serve our patrons and the community!

Being part of a community means being actively involved. Your library's staff, board, Friends group, and volunteers work with our school districts, social services, senior centers, county offices, local businesses, and libraries across the state. That builds bonds and trust. It means we get things done faster because we know who to ask for help.

As our advocates and donors, YOU are an enormous part of that community relationship. You lift us up when things are tough. You make us laugh and keep us going. You tell jokes, bring snacks, construct tables, hang pictures, wear costumes, and hand out flyers to advocate for us. We appreciate you more than we will ever be able to express... and so do the patrons whose lives YOU'VE changed with your generosity.

"Free Access" to libraries is not actually Free. The library must raise over 60% of its budget each year. Costs increase, especially now, due to inflation. State and County funding hasn't increased in years. By donating to the library, YOU are helping provide us with a sense of stability so we can be here another 85 years. We are here for you and plan to continue to grow our services! Many thanks and we hope to see you at the library soon!

*Please note that donation examples give an idea of how much things cost and how your dollars could support us, but donations will not necessarily be designated for these expenses specifically.
