Westmoreland Conservancy

The mission of Westmoreland Conservancy is to acquire land that conserves the rural and rustic nature of Western Pennsylvania. We may also partner with other entities to achieve this goal.

Since 1991 Westmoreland Conservancy has protected nearly 500 acres of land within the Gateway to Westmoreland County region. Of that, 444 acres bear the name "Westmoreland Conservancy Reserve". We are an accredited, all-volunteer land trust currently celebrating 25 years of land conservation. We believe in our slogan: Protecting Nature's home, enriching yours.

Caching with the Conservancy is an annual family-friendly all-day geocaching event designed to introduce Westmoreland Conservancy to people throughout the region. Caches (treasures) are hidden on the reserves and local places of interest and the geocachers (treasure hunters) have all day to locate as many as possible. The event wraps up with a large picnic to share stories and win prizes.
