Who are we?  Wheels for Wheels is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to serving, uplifting, and mobilizing the disabled community through advocacy, education, and realized successes that foster compassion and advance accessibility.

Who do we help? Our main objective is to ensure that people who need help the most can find and receive the assistance they need. We provide personal solutions, community solutions, and automotive solutions that increase mobility, independence, and quality of life for individuals with disabilities. As a mobility-focused organization, we believe that accessible transit is essential. We want to make sure everyone can get where they need and want to go. Grants come in all different shapes and sizes, and they are a great way to provide funding or an avenue for people to request funds to close a funding gap or meet a financial need.

How are we giving back? We're making a positive impact on individuals with disabilities and adaptive athletes through various means! We’ve provided hand controls, giving individuals with disabilities the freedom to operate a car independently and safely. We're also providing wbmx chair repairs, helping adaptive athletes participate in a sport that promotes fitness and social connections. To top it all off, we're offering travel and training grants for adaptive athletes, supporting them in their pursuits and helping them achieve their full potential. It's a wonderful feeling to be able to give back and make a difference in someone's life!

One of the additional objectives of Wheels for Wheels is to offer "Community Solutions," which involves educating and providing resources to the local community and businesses on how to improve accessibility in public areas. As an example, a small 6-inch step at a restaurant can make it difficult for someone in a wheelchair to enter, but installing a ramp can make a significant difference. Currently, Wheels for Wheels is collaborating with restaurants in downtown New Milford to eliminate existing concrete steps at their main entrances and replace them with concrete ramps. The organization has taken care of all necessary permits and has successfully completed two entries.

Why do we do it? Our mission is personal to us, as our founder and director, Sean Quigg, was born with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. He has long been an advocate for those with mobility challenges and wants to help others live life to the fullest.

How do we raise money? To raise funds for our mission, we hold an annual Wheels for Wheels car show, with the proceeds directly benefiting those in need. We have also started FRUMPFEST, another annual event, this one for the Adaptive Athlete Grant, which provides financial assistance to athletes with disabilities who compete in sports. The grant can help provide extra equipment or travel accommodations for competition for adaptive athletes of any sport. FrumpFest includes live music, competitions, and skate vendors.
