Wildlife Works, Inc.

A nonprofit organization

Wildlife Works' mission is to rehabilitate and release orphaned and distressed wildlife and promote responsible attitudes regarding the preservation of native species, habitat, and the environment. WWI primarily serves Westmoreland County and surrounding areas and accepts large birds-of-prey from outside the area.

Wildlife Works' primary program is to treat injured and orphaned wildlings. In 2015 WWI admitted 463 wildlings of which 150 were non-treatables (died within 24 hrs). Of those remaining 249 were released equating to an impressive release rate of 80%, Organized in 1994, WWI has admitted more than 10,000 wildlings with an estimated 7,000 having been released to experience freedom and to propagate their species significantly mulitiplying WWI's environmental impact. Distressed wildlings are brought to WWI by the general public. When necessary WWI volunteers go to the site for rescue. Our senior rehabilitator is licensed by the PA Game Commission and US Fish and Wildlife Service and has 20+ years of experience. WWI treats all mammals with the exception of large mammals and rabies vector species. WWI also specializes in treating large birds-of-prey '" such as eagles, hawks, owls, ospreys, falcons, vultures, and kites '" utilizing their one-of-its-kind continuous flight raptor barn.
