Wildwood Secondary

At Wildwood Secondary, our mission is to provide a learner-centered middle school education grounded in real-world experiences that honors the capacity of adolescents to take ownership of their education and engage as citizens of the world. Wildwood Secondary prepares students to be successful in high-school, college and beyond by inspiring the joyful discovery of self and a passion for learning and independent thinking.

Wildwood Secondary doesn't look or feel like most middle school experiences. Instead of a rigid separation of subjects and several transitions each day, we teach subjects as if they are tools that should be used to solve real-world problems. Students move through an engaging 2-year curriculum, but with freedom to explore their interests more deeply, and as a members of a community. Every day, time will be spent outside: observing, experimenting, reflecting, and absorbing. The school day will be rich in STEM experiences, project-based learning, and opportunities to hone both written and oral communication skills. Wildwood Secondary is a full-time middle school.

Our students cover the same ground as public school students, but with several interesting side trips. Our students have the flexibility in their day to still be kids, to get up and move around when needed, and to dive more deeply into subjects that interest them. Our students go to high school with their eyes open to the world through honest conversations about things that matter to them. They learn study skills, thinking skills, and life skills.
