Windridge Therapeutic Equestrian Center

Windridge Therapeutic Equestrian Center of East Texas strives to enhance the quality of life for children, adults, and veterans with disabilities or mental health needs using equine-assisted services. From the beginning, Windridge's mission has been accomplished by maintaining its structure as a community-based organization. This acceptance and support have made Windridge an integral part of East Texas and enabled us to serve our neighbors for 35 years - we are grateful for your support!

Windridge has served the East Texas area with Equine-Assisted Services since 1988 and relies on the support of our generous community. We are a Premiere Accredited center with the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH, Int'l) and currently have participants ranging in age from 4 to 84 years old. We have four programs available: Therapeutic/Adaptive Riding, Therapy incorporating Hippotherapy through Kidz First Therapy, Equines in Service for Heroes (Veterans), and our Volunteer Program. Our participants have a wide variety of needs and diagnoses, and each person is matched with a horse that will benefit them the most by trained instructors or therapists. Our covered arena allows us to serve clients in all types of weather, but also needs good lighting for everyone's safety. Our original arena lights are 20+ yr old Halogen lamps that use over 2 1/2 times as much energy as modern LED lights, and the ballasts in our original fluorescent lights in the offices, clinic, lounge, classroom and tack room are starting to go out. We thought this the perfect opportunity to simultaneously decrease our monthly expenses and replace aging, inefficient lights to better serve our clients. Windridge exists only because of the generosity and faithfulness of the East Texas Community not only financially, but for our volunteers as well. Thank you!
