YOU CAN BUILD A BETTER WORLD FOR WOMEN AND GIRLS!

SILB has spent 100 years working together to ensure women and girls have the resources and opportunities they need to achieve their full potential and live their dreams in our community. This year our goal is to raise $15,000 and get 100 donors! For as little as $50, you can provide a gas or grocery card for an unhoused Long Beach City College student or contribute to an educational grants to keep a working mother in college.

GIVE NOW AND YOU CAN CREATE A BRIGHTER FUTURE FOR WOMEN AND GIRLS!

Your gift reaches women and girls facing extreme obstacles such as violence, poverty, and loss by helping them achieve their educational goals. With the current economic climate of rising costs for everything from food to transportation, it is difficult for most women to make ends meet. Your contribution can help women not have to choose between feeding their family or going back to school. Donate now so that they can do both!

Education is the key to unlocking the economic empowerment of the world's women and girls. When women and girls are educated, they have opportunity, choice, and power to make healthy decisions for themselves and their families. When women and girls are empowered, they have a sense of autonomy, self-confidence, and the power to control their private and public lives. YOUR SUPPORT MAKES THIS POSSIBLE.

GIVE NOW AND YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN A WOMAN'S LIFE!

Testimonials

~~~"I literally would not have been able to stay housed if it hadn't been for the Soroptimist's scholarship. After graduating with my Master of Social Work, I now work as a therapist for people who have been incarcerated and who are trying as hard as they can to turn their lives around despite facing systemic challenges such as discrimination, economic inequality, and severely limited mental health resources."
~~~" I am very grateful to the SILB organization for helping me achieve my goals and improve my life. Thanks to being awarded, I was able to catch up on past due rent and avoid homelessness. I was also able to continue my education and pursue my passion for helping others. I work as behavioral therapist technician and find joy in working with children with autism. The Soroptimist award has also helped me to overcome challenges, embrace opportunities, and appreciate diversity."

~~~"I am very thankful for the scholarship provided to me by the Soroptimist of Long Beach! I am a 29-year-old student who returned to school while working and this scholarship helped tremendously to support me while attending LBCC. I graduated and am now a transfer student at CSULB pursuing a BFA in Sculpture!"
