Give for Good Today & Help Us Do Good in the Community

Yew Dell Botanical Gardens celebrates all that is great about the outdoors. For more than 20 years, we have offered the community 60+ acres of beautiful display gardens, conducted plant research, provided an ambitious slate of educational classes, and been a place to be inspired or decompress.

So what do we do at Yew Dell?

Our mission is to spark a passion for plants and gardening through accessible science and inspiring beauty.

Our organization has worked hard for over 20 years to preserve and offer a space for people to explore the outdoors, deepen their connection to nature, and learn about (and purchase) exciting and diverse plants. Our gardens have been a refuge, resource, and inspiration to our community for two decades. And as a nonprofit - we rely on generous individuals like you to be a resource and inspiration to our community! Your contributions directly support the work that we do.  Even a gift of $25 goes a long way in supporting our mission and continuing this invaluable work in our community.

About Yew Dell

Yew Dell Botanical Gardens' mission informs every initiative, class and project. We serve our community as a 60-acre botanical garden and nationally-recognized center of gardening and sustainable horticulture. Yew Dell offers stunning display gardens, research on new plant varieties, and garden & environmental education for all experience levels: from children to homeowners to green industry professionals. We love connecting with our community through our classes, workshops, membership, volunteer, or children's programs, and a range of special events. We are listed on the National Register of Historic Places and have been listed as one of the Top 10 U.S. Destination Gardens by Horticulture Magazine and even featured in Southern Living Magazine's Best of the South.

Our Values:

Community: We foster excitement about plants and gardening in people of all ages and backgrounds. Our communities and our gardens both thrive by sharing a collective knowledge and love of plants.

Education: We provide education for everyone, from those just beginning their gardening journey to professional horticulturists. We see gardeners as citizen scientists who can apply our educational offerings to their practical, everyday lives.

Horticulture Science: Everything we do is rooted in science, from promoting and offering the best plants to providing sound gardening advice in ways that are accessible for all. Our hope is that visitors use what they learn here to create increased biodiversity, healthier ecosystems and more inspiring gardens.

Inspiration: What makes Yew Dell's unique whimsy and beauty worth preserving is that it was lovingly handcrafted by forward-thinking horticulturist Theodore Klein. Like Theodore, we believe that beauty is not only necessary for the mental and physical well-being of all people but for deepening people's connection to the natural world. Our gardens provide a needed refuge and inspiration for the community.

Sustainability: We care deeply about what we do and employ passionate people who work every day to run both an environmentally and fiscally sustainable organization.
