Young Audiences Charter Schools

Founded by arts-in-education organization Young Audiences of Louisiana in 2013, the network of Young Audiences Charter Schools has now grown to serve children Pre-K through 12th grade across four campuses in both Jefferson and Orleans Parishes! Our mission is to educate the whole child through arts integration and to equip creative learners to become self-aware thinkers, creators, and problem solvers who serve as leaders in their community with a lifelong love of learning.

With the support of the community and the Jefferson and NOLA Public School Systems, YACS has grown to proudly serve 2,000 students and our third graduating class for the 2024-2025 academic year. Our vision is to educate Creative Learners who are self-aware thinkers, creators, and problem solvers who serve as leaders in their community, and have a lifelong love of learning. As a testament to the necessity of providing arts in education, many of our students struggled academically or socially before joining the YACS family because they were uninspired or disengaged in their previous classrooms. YACS's arts-integrated and arts-intensive models allow students from elementary through high school to explore and express their talents in an inclusive school culture as a pathway to cross-disciplinary academic achievement and careers in the arts and beyond.
