Youth Angel Scholars Foundation

A nonprofit organization

Youth Angel Scholars was established in 2010 as a scholarship fund in memory of stillborn babies. The founders Coaches Kelley & Will (educator and athletic coach) created the concept of Youth Angel Scholars as a way to remember their daughter. The organization also served as a safe haven for other parents who may have lost their children due to complications with childbirth. Their love of children, and the ability to mentor them in a variety ways led to creating a monetary fund to provide book scholarships, entrance fees to symposiums or sponsored college tours for local youth.

In the early stages, Youth Angel Scholars held weekend mentoring programs for teens ages 13-18 at Temple University's Center City Campus. The organization flourished by the support of local donors, corporate sponsors, and supportive parents who believed in the mission. In 2016, the organization was moved to Collingdale, Pennsylvania and through a collaborative partnership with ASK For Tutoring, the vision transformed its location and curriculum to serve a new generation of students in Delaware County.

Youth Angel Scholars Foundation was finally incorporated in 2022 as a full mentoring service specializing in after school programs, Saturday literacy programs, and mentoring initiatives throughout Delaware County. Affectionately known as YAS now serves over thirty school age children throughout the year (Monday - Saturday) during out of school time providing services such as aftercare, book clubs, Saturday mentoring and parent groups. It is our goal for the Youth Angel Scholars Foundation to obtain a building and vehicle to advance their mentoring and advocacy to more families throughout Delaware County.
