Eliminating Racism. Empowering Women. YWCA of New Orleans Recovering Rebuilding Reclaiming Reflecting Renewing

Eliminating racism, empowering women -- it'swhat we are about and what we do. YWCA is dedicated to not only women's empowerment but also to promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. For 111 years, YWCA New Orleans has served our region with impactful programs, solid leadership, as well as programmatic and financial transparency.

The YWCA served a multi-parish area including but not limited to Jefferson, Orleans, St. Tammany, and St. Bernard parishes, until the untimely interruption of services in 2005. The YWCA of New Orleans has been widely recognized as the leading agency in shaping policy for women and girls in our community and will once again become a major leader of social change. Our goals include the construction of a state-of-the-art facility to house vital programs and services: Domestic Violence Prevention and sheltering; Battered Women's Program; Daycare and Early Education Center; Financial Empowerment; Educational Programs; Parenting Classes; Youth Enrichment; Senior Services; Rape Crisis and Family Counseling services as well as the popular widely-acclaimed Role Model Program.
